Directions to Misty Mountain Inn & Cottages

From the Atlanta, GA Airport ~ As you leave the airport, US85 and 75 are the same road. Then take US75 North straight through downtown heading toward Marietta. Turn onto 575 at exit 268. US575 soon becomes 515 North; there's no exit necessary. Then follow directions to Misty Mountain Inn below.

From the Chattanooga, TN Airport ~ Travel via US75 Northeast toward Cleveland, TN. Turn onto  US64 going East toward Murphy, North Carolina. Before Murphy, you'll turn right onto US129/19 heading South to Blairsville, GA. Stay on 129/19 South through Blairsville, GA.

From South Carolina ~ We recommend travel to Blairsville via US 76 going west at Clemson toward Clayton, Georgia. On Highway 76, Blairsville is about an hour west of Clayton. You'll go through Hiawassee and then Young Harris toward Blairsville. Blairsville has three stop lights on 76. At the third you exit left onto Route 129/19 South – passing McDonald’s on the right, coming to “T” intersection where you turn left and follow signs to Vogel State Park.

Directions to Misty Mountain Inn at Blairsville ~ Exit where Routes 515/76 intersect with Routes 129/19, go South following signs to Vogel State Park. In Blairsville, you will pass Union County's Old Courthouse, go about 2.5 miles to the Owltown Feed Store & Gas Station and Owl's Nest Antiques. Turn left onto Town Creek Road (no sign) across from the Owltown Gallery where a green information sign reads Trackrock Gap Archeological Area. In 3.5 miles, look for Misty Mountain on the right; entrance road is both before and after the sign.

Approaching from South of Blairsville without going into town ~
From Athens, GA, area stay  on 129 North to Gainesville, GA and then Cleveland, GA where you have two choices:
1.  From Cleveland you can go North on 75 through Helen, heading North and staying on Route 75/17 going toward Hiawassee.  About 11 miles north of Helen, you will see signs for Brasstown Bald and Route 180. Turn left (west) on 180. Stay on 180 ... about 5 miles beyond Brasstown Bald, Town Creek Road will intersect with 180.  You'll see signs for Alexander's Store & Trackrock Riding Stable indicating a right turn. Stay on Town Creek Road, and you'll see our sign on left about a quarter mile beyond Alexander's Store.
Time-wise this route is the same as #2 because of switchback curves on Route 129.
2.  From Cleveland you can go North on 129 toward Turner's Corner, merging with 19 North toward Vogel State Park.  Stay on 19/ 129 North until you get to Route 180 where there are signs for Brasstown Bald, Alexander's Store and Trackrock Riding Stable.  Turn right onto East 180** and stay on it until you reach Town Creek Road where you'll see more signs for Alexander's and Trackrock. Turn left onto Town Creek Road.
Stay on Town Creek Road and you'll see our sign on left about a half mile beyond Alexander's.

**180 intersects 19/129 in two places...the first time you see it on the left...don’t turn left!
